As a diabetic, food plays an important part in maintaining my health. It means eating a low carbohydrate diet. Boring...right? Who wants to eat boring food? I learned to prepare and style food to make it look...well...appetizing. That way, I didn't feel deprived. I guess that's where my interest in food photography began. I figured out how to plan and style nourishment to make it look, well, mouth-watering. That way, I didn't feel denied. I figure that is the place my enthusiasm for nourishment photography started. I needed to archive my diligent work and transform it into workmanship.

Like you, I discovered food photography as a way to make my meals more interesting and document them. After becoming a diabetic and having limited food choices, it's easy to feel denied. Food photography is a great way to keep your mind focused and increase creativity.
